At Continental Group of Institutes, we believe in sharing rather than teaching. Mahindra & Mahindra (Swaraj PTL Divison)

The students of Continental Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalvehra Fatehgarh Sahib had been to an Industrial tour to Mahindra & Mahindra (Swaraj PTL Divison), Mohali. The Swaraj brand has a rich history emerging from the spike in the demand for tractors during the Green Revolution of the mid-sixties.

Punjab Tractors Ltd (PTL) purchased the design in 1970, and they inherited nearly forty years of experience when they acquired PTL in 2008. In addition to strong presence in India, Swaraj tractors are used across the world in the US, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ghana. In each region they enter, seek to provide farmers with tractors and implements precisely suited to their agricultural conditions, helping them maximize their prosperity. Around 47 students accompanied by 3 Faculty members had been a part of this enriching experience. The students had got an opportunity to see and learn about the different range of tractors starts from 22 HP to 72 HP, and also compatible wheel-type and track-type harvesters. Our students learnt about tractor models which were developed by their own R&D. The students were also instructed by the staff members of Swaraj Division.

Industrial Visit to Science City, Jalandhar

The Science City has been set up in 72 acres of land in the of heart of Punjab, on Jalandhar- Kapurthala Road. It is intended to inculcate the scientific aptitude & temperament, to fire the imagination and creativity, foster the spirit of enquiry and exploration among the masses, especially in the young minds. Educational Tour was sponsored by Punjab Technical University. Scheme was offered by PTU in which university has paid Rs. 150/- person and students visited and explore various sections there.

Around 230 students accompanied by 24 Faculty members had been a part of this enriching experience. The students had got an opportunity to see and learn about the Physics Projects, 3D Show, Simulator, Dome theatre and saw Virtual/Sports museum and Biological Section at the Science City from the start till the end.

Our students learnt about simulator, the technical aspects used in physics projects. The students were also instructed by the staff members of Science city.

Industrial Visit to HTM Ltd., Pinjore

Industrial visit of B.tech- Mechanical Engineering 3rd year students to HMT Ltd, Pinjore. Er. Puneet Bansal, Er. Vishal Mahajan & Er. Inderpreet singh from Mechanical department accompanied 50 students to visit HMT- Machine Tools Division (MTP), Pinjore.

Hindustan Machine Tools Ltd. in the year 1953 was established with the same thought and was termed as"Jewel of Nation". In the year 2000, the various diversified businesses of the Company were reorganized into separate subsidiaries and thus in April,2000 HMT Machine Tools Limited was born as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the holding company, Limited.

Industrial Visit to Haas Manesar

Students of MTPS program visited Haas Automation, Manesar on October 18, 2013. They started early in the morning and landed in industry around 12.30pm. Prabhjot and Jharminder Singh from Mechanical department accompanied them to visit Haas.

Haas Automation is the largest machine tool builder in the western world, manufacturing a complete line of CNC vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes and rotary products.

The company also builds a variety of specialty machines, including 5-axis machining centers, mold making machining centers, toolroom machines, and gantry routers. Haas machine tools and rotary products are built to the exacting specifications of Gene Haas to deliver higher accuracy, repeatability, and durability than any other machine tools on the market. Students were very happy to see new technology of CNC machines and they also questioned their representative about technical details. Company's representatives were very happy to provide this detail to students. Students shown their keen interest to update their-self with upcoming technology.

Several Industrial visits were also arranged for the students, which include Cipet (Panipat & Amritsar), International Tractor Ltd. (Hoshiarpur), Godawari spherocast Ltd. (Lalru), Eastman Cast and Forgings (Ludhiana), CTR (Ludhiana), and Coca Cola.

Visit To Vardhman Textiles Mill

The students of Continenta lGroup of Institutes, Jalvehra , Fatehgarh Sahib had been to an educationaltrip to Vardhman Textile Mills, on 5th Decembe in Baddi Unit

Around 100 students had been a part of this enriching experience. The students had gotan opportunity to see and learn about the functioning of all the departmentsrunning at the Mill from the start till the end of a final product.

Our students learnt about Manufacturing, the technical aspects used in Automated Engineering Machines, their Operations, the Production of Cotton in thefactory.Alsoabout the administration and co-ordination amongst the different units of theVardhman Textile Mills. The students were also instructed by the staff members of Vardhman Mills before actually seeing the machinery processes about the safety parameters.
